2009 Sigma Xi Annual Meeting and International Research Conference

November 12-15, 2009
The Woodlands Waterway Marriott Hotel
The Woodlands, Texas (near Houston)

We welcome your proposal to present a science session at the upcoming Sigma Xi Annual Meeting and International Research Conference. A successful science session will present research in a general light, so that non-experts can grasp the relevance and possible applications of the work. An ideal session will stimulate dialogue among attendees and suggest new research directions. The concurrent science sessions will be held at 10:00-11:45am, Friday, November 13, 2009.

Science session presenters are non-students. Student presenters should participate in the Student Research Conference's Poster Presentations.

Deadline for submission is:
July 10, 2009

Please submit your proposal of approximately 150 words to meeting@sigmaxi.org describing the following:

  1. Theme or topic for the session (must be water related)
  2. Field(s) of research
  3. Working title
  4. Type of session (workshop, seminar, panel, roundtable, or lecture)
  5. Names of any potential co-presenters
All proposals will be reviewed after the submission deadline of July 10th. We may seek clarification or more information for short-listed proposals. Proposal authors will be notified of the results via email by August 1st.

Due to time limits imposed by the conference schedule, it may not be possible to include all submitted proposals for a science session.
