Digvir S. Jayas was elected in the 2014 elections and will serve three years, beginning July 1, 2015.

Vice-President (Research and International) at the University of Manitoba in Canada.

Candidate's Statement:
If elected as associate director, I will bring a great deal of diverse experience to offer to Sigma Xi. I will strive to:

Expose young researchers to the activities of Sigma Xi.

Facilitate activities that expose young researchers to interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary research.

Facilitate nominations of young researchers to join Sigma Xi.

Encourage young kids to consider science and engineering as important career options by organizing as well as encouraging others in the region to organize activities involving students and teachers which expose students to potential contributions of science and engineering to the society and role they can play in making these contributions. I have organized several such activities at the University of Manitoba.
