Annual Meeting logoSigma Xi, an international community of distinguished scientists and engineers in more than 100 countries, features an annual conference rich with opportunities for networking with colleagues, students, and professionals. Informal conversations are augmented by a number of events designed to enhance these important interactions. Connect with the community of researchers by attending these events at the 2015 onference held at the Sheraton Kansas City Hotel at Crown Center in Kansas City, Missouri.

Chapter Poster Presentations

Throughout the Meeting
Chapter representatives share information about their local activities in this ongoing poster session. For Chapter Delegates, this is a terrific way to share information about outstanding chapter programs, and for students, it's a great way to learn about the local Sigma Xi chapters. More information is available online.

Sigma Xi partners and supporters are represented during the conference at exhibit booths located in the exhibit hall. Exhibits offer delegates and students the opportunity to interact with representatives from academia, industry, government and other research-based organizations. Professional Research Poster Presentation

Throughout the Meeting
In addition to the Student Research presentations, scientific posters by attendees will be on display throughout the meeting. Presenters may attend their posters at any time during the conference. The professional poster presentations offer excellent opportunities for discourse and networking among students and senior researchers. More information is available online.

Q & A with Miles O'Brien

Emmy Award-winning science journalist Miles O'Brien will virtually answers questions from attendees. O'Brien is becoming an honorary member of Sigma Xi this year.

Power-Up Breakfast & Student Research Conference

Students, judges and exhibitors prepare for the student poster competition by powering up with a light continental breakfast. Student poster presentations will be judged beginning at 8:45 am.

John P. McGovern Science and Society Award Luncheon and Lecture

The award presentation and lecture will follow the luncheon. Included with registration. Tickets will be provided only to those who select the option to attend the event during online registration. This year's McGovern Award winner is May Berenbaum

Evan Ferguson Award Lecture, Student Award Presentations, and Chapter Award Presentations

Larry Johnson, the Evan Ferguson Award winner, will give a lecture, followed by the presentation of the Student Research Conference Awards and Chapter Awards. 

Sigma Xi Banquet

The Saturday evening banquet is the capstone of an exciting conference featuring the award presentation of the Procter Prize for Scientific Achievement Award to David Williams. Enjoy an evening of fine dining, conversation, music and a cash bar. Included in registration.
