Jonathan Clark is professor of zoology and director of the DNA Laboratory at Weber State University in Ogden, Utah. He obtained a Ph.D. in molecular genetics from Ohio State University and completed postdoctoral research at the University of Arizona. He was a recipient of postdoctoral fellowships from the National Science Foundation and the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation. He has been at Weber State University since 1998, where he received the College of Science’s Seager Distinguished Teaching award in 2007 and the university’s Lowe Innovative Teaching award in 2008. He has been a member of Sigma Xi since 1998 and served as president of the WSU Chapter from 2001-2008. For more than a decade he has been actively engaged in undergraduate research, resulting in presentations with students at more than 20 national and international meetings. His research interests are in the area of molecular evolutionary genetics, and he is the author of 15 peer-reviewed publications, four of these with undergraduate student co-authors. In 2005, Clark was a visiting scientist (on sabbatical leave) in the Department of Genetics, University of Valencia, Spain.
