Outstanding Local Teacher AwardsOur Chapter recognizes and honors excellence in teaching
through awards to outstanding area teachers. Awardees are recognized at our Chapter's annual spring Celebration of Science dinner. The actual award presentation is made at the teacher's school teacher's school so that students may share in the award ceremony.
The awardee is presented with a framed certificate and a check for
$150.00. The monetary award is made possible through matching
contributions from the Sigma Xi National Office, Whitman College, and
Walla Walla College.
Past Sigma Xi Chapter #519 Award Recipients are:
NOMINATIONS: Anyone may nominate a teacher. Teachers from any school in Eastern Washington or Oregon are eligible. The nomination should take the form of a letter outlining the reasons the individual is considered to be particularly deserving.
