The University of Chicago Chapter
The Sigma Xi Chapter at the University of Chicago was established in May 1903 (No. 15). Prof. Samuel Wendell Williston, professor of Vertebrate Paleontology, organized other faculty members to form the Unviersity of Chicago chapter. There were sixty-two charter members.
The goals of the chapter are to promote research and public understanding of the importance of research and science. We sponsor two public lectures each year and award prizes to the best undergraduate and medical student scientific research papers.
Membership is by nomination. Nomination forms can be down loaded here. For more information contact Mert Vincent, 773-702-5425.
