Grand Opening - Waterworks Museum, Chestnut Hill, MA
(03/27/2011)

On Sunday, March 27, 2011, the Waterworks Museum in Chestnut Hill, MA will open its doors to the public. Members of the Harvard Chapter of Sigma Xi are invited to attend. Families are welcome.

The Waterworks Museum consists of the vast hall, housing three historic steam-powered pumping engines, and a two story glass-enclosed pavilion whose second floor is a Community Meeting Room, available after the Museum opens on an advance-booking basis to non-profit community and civic groups in Brighton-Allston, Brookline and Newton. The stories told through our exhibits and public programs follow four themes: public health, architecture and landscapes, engines and engineers, and social history.
