Abstract:
Since the 1980 Bay-Dole Act, Federal Policy has encouraged and rewarded employees for intellectual property development and commercialization. Two contractors, the Environmental Technology Commercialization Center in Cleveland and the National Technology Transfer Center in Wheeling, are responsible for helping EPA find companies interested in using EPA patented technology. The time-line for the development and commercialization of "rapid fungal identification and quantification" will be described as a successful example of this process.
