The February 3rd Meeting was held at the Civic Garden Center of Greater Cincinnati. Members assembled at the main building (above, left photo) at 6:30 pm. During the social hour, members got the chance to catch up on the latest news with old friends as well as make new acquaintences and meet new members. Following the social hour, members settled down to enjoy a variety of dinner items catered by Mayas in Blue Ash. Dinner was topped off with a delicious pastry tray, courtesy of the Chapter. A brief Chapter meeting was held to formally induct the newest members of our Chapter, Ann Grimm, Sara Dwenger, and Jennifer Cashdollar. Vice President Mike Schock then introduced the speaker of the night, Bruce Ryan of the University of Cincinnati.

Dr. Ryan's Presentation: Murky Maps in Murky Minds: Images and Mental Maps of Cincinnati
Cincinnatians carry mental maps of the city about in their heads. What are the behavioral consequences of such images of the city?

Covering a variety of disciplines, the fascinating presentation allowed the audience to rethink the images we have of our city - images and mental maps we have drawn as individuals and as part of groups and subgroups. The end of the presentation seemed to come much too quickly, even as the presentation touched new areas of interest. After a brief question and answer session, the meeting was concluded and the members headed home with fresh mental maps to consider for their routes homeward.

The Chapter Officers would especially like to thank Sue Schock and Ron Stetler for their help behind the scenes in making the dinner meeting a success.
