Submission Guidelines for Compendium Summary Articles and Abstracts

Basic guidelines for Compendium Summary Articles:

1) A Summary Article for the Compendium must be submitted by a Sigma Xi member who resides in Kentucky (according to the address on file with Sigma Xi) or who is a member of a Sigma Xi chapter based in Kentucky (according to Sigma Xi's roster).

2) A copy of the original published paper must be included with the Summary Article when it is submitted for the Compendium. A reference to this original paper will be included in the Compendium with the article.

3) The submitting Sigma Xi member must be a listed author on the original paper. Alternatively, the submitting Sigma Xi member may sponsor the work of one of his or her students (this must be indicated, and will be duly noted in the Compendium), or of a closely associated colleague (in this last case, a few lines explaining the relationship of the colleague to the sponsor are needed, and will be included in the Compendium).

4) The Summary Article must be between 500 and 2000 words in length.

5) The Summary Article must be submitted electronically (to sxlouisville@gmail.com) in WORD or ODT format, in Times New Roman 12 point font. Figures should be included at the end of the text (not embedded in the text), of adequate resolution, and suitable for gray-scale printing.

6) There will be no page charges or other fees associated with publishing in the Compendium.

1) An Abstract for the Compendium must be submitted by a Sigma Xi member who resides in Kentucky (according to the address on file with Sigma Xi) or who is a member of a Sigma Xi chapter based in Kentucky (according to Sigma Xi's roster).

2) The submitting Sigma Xi member must be a listed author on the Abstract. Alternatively, the submitting Sigma Xi member may sponsor the work of one of his or her students (this must be indicated, and will be duly noted in the Compendium), or of a closely associated colleague (in this last case, a few lines explaining the relationship of the colleague to the sponsor are needed, and will be included in the Compendium).

3) The Abstract must be between 100 and 500 words in length (no figures).

4) The Abstract must be submitted electronically (to sxlouisville@gmail.com) in WORD or ODT format, in Times New Roman 12 point font.

5) There will be no page charges or other fees associated with publishing in the Compendium.
