Competition for the annual C. Daniel Cole Undergraduate Research Awards
Undergraduate students doing basic research in the broad areas of Sciences and Engineering interested in competing for the C. Daniel Cole Research Awards must do the following:
1. Present a poster (group, maximum of three, or an individual) at the Annual UML Student Research Symposium on a date to be determined each spring on University Excellence in Research Day.
2. Details of the competition are under consideration. The Sigma Xi Executive Committee will determine the following prize winners:
First Prize, $500,
Second Prize, $300,
Third Prize, $200,
Fourth Prize $100.
In the case of a group project the prize will be equally divided among the group participants. In addition, all awardees will be invited to attend the Annual Sigma Xi Banquet in the spring as guests of the Society. The Cole Award winners will be announced and inducted into the Society of the Sigma Xi at the banquet with the first year's dues paid for by the Society.
