The New Orleans Chapter of Sigma Xi was chartered in 1957 with 101 members. The chapter celebrated it's 10th anniversary by establishing an annual Gold Medal and Certificate Award for outstanding achievement by an undergraduate student. After 45 years, our chapter continues to involve itself in the community as well as enlighten our membership in the promotion of scientific endeavors.
