2007-2008 Chapter Outstanding Diversity Program Awards

Diversity Program Awards were presented to chapters that have organized outstanding programs to promote diversity within the science, engineering and research communities. Winners were chosen by the Society's Diversity Committee.

University of Puerto Rico Mayaguez Chapter for its lecture series

The University of Puerto Rico Mayaguez won the award for their Outstanding Lecture Series. With a variety of topics the chapter was able to attract members and potential new members from different departments and areas of interests. Lectures ranged from “Nanoparticles as delivery vectors for solid tumors” to a lecture on “Green Campus” in which the speaker wore a dress made out of bamboo.
