Distinguished Lectureships Program
Since 1937 Sigma Xi has presented its Distinguished Lecturers. This is an opportunity for chapters to host visits from outstanding individuals who are at the leading edge of science.
Lecturers communicate their insights and excitement to a broad range of scholars and to the community at large. Each year thousands of Sigma Xi members, students and the public have an opportunity to hear exceptional talks and to ask questions of experts.
The Lectureship Program is supported by Sigma Xi members with additional support from partnering organizations like the American Meteorological Society, the National Academy of Engineering and the National Cancer Institute.

Pariser Global Lectureship for Innovation in Physical Sciences
In 2022, Sigma Xi launched a new endowed lectureship to connect chapters and members with thought leaders in science and engineering. The Pariser Global Lectureship for Innovation in Physical Sciences recognizes researchers worldwide for their capacity to bridge the gap between basic and applied research for the betterment of humanity. The lectureship and its recipients honor and reflect the legacy of pioneering chemist Dr. Rudolph Pariser and the creativity and research excellence exemplified throughout his life and career.
Guest Distinguished Lectureships in Response to COVID-19
The Sigma Xi Committee on Lectureships is pleased to host a series of virtual lectures that address different aspects of the COVID-19 pandemic. All lectures and will be held 2:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m. Eastern Time according to the schedule listed here. All events are free and open to the public.

Please join Sigma Xi and American Scientist for online question-and-answer sessions with Sigma Xi Distinguished Lecturers. These sessions offer the opportunity to hear a researcher talk about his or her work. The sessions are held online and broadcast live.
