Additional Comments: My research in developmental biology is conducted with undergraduate co-workers and published in peer-reviewed journals with undergraduate co-authors. Years of doing science at exclusively undergraduate institutions, along with participation in Sigma Xi, have made me keenly aware of the need for recognition of Baccalaurate Colleges as locations of serious science. Of course it can also be productive for our delegates to meet as a group to discuss similar issues of participation, programs, etc.

Additional Comments: I am honored to be nominated for this position. I have been teaching a wide range of Biology courses for 34 years at Bucknell University in central Pennsylvania. I currently teach General Biology to non majors during the first semester and courses in Immunobiology and Metabolism to upper division majors during the second semester. The importance of an undergraduate research participation program has been a particular interest of mine and Bucknell has been very supportive of this effort. I am also fascinated by the huge range of new teaching technologies that are available, but the importance of the live instructor who cares and is excited about the field is also high on my list of priorities.
