Assembly Update and Election Results
The following is a brief review of the actions taken by the 2000 Assembly of Delegates
and the results of elections that took place during Sigma Xi's 2000 annual meeting, 9-12
November, in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
2000 Assembly of Delegates
Annual Dues. The 2000 Assembly of Delegates approved an amended motion from the Board
of Directors that annual dues and the local support payments to chapters for the year
beginning 1 July 2001 be the rates for the current year increased by the cost of living
index (CPI) for 30 September 2000. Student dues will not be increased. Thus, for the year
beginning 1 July 2001, the following rates will be in effect:
Annual Dues = US$52
Student Dues = US$20
Emeritus Dues = US$26
Combined Full Rate = US$52
Comnbined Half Rate = US$26
Life Members = US$1,125
Local Support Payments = US$8.16 per affiliated member
Initial Fee = US$7.50
Promotion Fee = US$7.50
Bylaw Change.
The 2000 Assembly of Delegates approved the recommendation from
the Board of Directors that the deadline for receipt of chapter resolutions for the
Assembly of Delegates be changed from 90 to 150 days in advance of the annual meeting.
