Candidate's Statement: Sigma Xi is a lot of fun. The many scientific disciplines within our society represent a tremendous source of strength and diversity. I have seen this and have enjoyed talking and learning from our members and the many speakers and visitors that take part in our program.  Including our youth in our programs has been our focus for many years and provides an important interaction between our experienced scientists and our future scientists.  It is my intention as a Director to visit the many chapters throughout the Mid-Atlantic region and facilitate our working together.

Sigma Xi and Other Activities: Serving as an officer of our dynamic Chesapeake Chapter provides ample experience in appreciating the concepts of Sigma Xi, and the motivations of our society for promoting science and the fun of science among our membership and our community. I have served in the following offices: President 1998-99; Vice-President 1997-98; Secretary 1995-97; 1999-02; Science Fair Judge (local, regional, national);  Student Awards committee
