Delegate Information
2004 Sigma Xi Annual Meeting and Student Research Conference
November 11-14, 2004
Le Centre Sheraton
Montréal, Quebec, Canada
Through regional meetings, meetings of constituency groups, assemblies of delegates, workshops, and informal discussions, the Sigma Xi Annual Meeting offers an opportunity for delegates from Sigma Xi chapters to learn more about the Society, to gather ideas for chapter-based programs, to interact with colleagues from other chapters, and to conduct some Sigma Xi business. Additionally, various special programs and opportunities serve to enrich the environment for scientific exchange during the meeting.
The Annual Meeting is open to all interested participants. Registration is required, and each of Sigma Xi's chapters that are in good standing may designate up to three delegates to attend the meeting, though only one will receive airfare from the Society to attend the meeting. For a chapter to remain in good standing with Sigma Xi, a delegate must attend one annual meeting every three years. The official delegate from each chapter is responsible for casting votes during various assemblies.
Individuals for whom this is a first Sigma Xi Annual Meeting are encouraged to attend the New Delegate Orientation.
Delegates are encouraged to bring guests to Montréal. A guest registration fee allows access to the meeting, and individual tickets may be purchased for events including meal functions and the Sigma Xi banquet.
