Through regional meetings, meetings of constituency groups, assemblies of delegates, workshops, and informal discussions, the Sigma Xi Annual Meeting offers an opportunity for delegates from Sigma Xi chapters to learn more about the Society. Delegates are able to gather ideas for chapter-based programs, to interact with colleagues from other chapters, and to conduct Sigma Xi business. Additionally, various special programs and opportunities serve to enrich the environment for scientific exchange during the meeting.
The Annual Meeting is open to all interested participants. Registration is required, and each of Sigma Xi's chapters may designate up to three delegates to attend the meeting. Only one of the three, the designated voting delegate, will receive airfare compensation from the Society to attend the Annual Meeting. For a chapter to remain in good standing with Sigma Xi, a designated voting delegate must attend one annual meeting every three years. The official delegate from each chapter is responsible for casting votes during the general assemblies.
Delegates are encouraged to bring guests to the Annual Meeting. A guest registration fee allows access to the meeting and individual tickets may be purchased for events including social functions and the Sigma Xi banquet.
