Candidate's Statement: I would be happy to serve my colleagues in the Mid-Atlantic region of Sigma Xi by being your representative on the Committee on Nominations. Sigma Xi is at a critical stage in its history and the identification of leadership will be as important as anything else we do. I have had the opportunity to learn more about both the function and culture of Sigma Xi during my time as as a member and Chair of the Committee on Qualifications and Membership. I think some of these insights would give me a useful perspective in evaluating candidates for key leadership roles in the Society.

Sigma Xi and Other Activities: Sigma Xi, Thomas Jefferson University Chapter: 2002-present-various offices, chapter delegate; currently Membership Director. (National) Committee on Qualifications and Membership: Member, 2004- present, Chair, 2005-present. Sigma Xi Executive Director Search Committee: Fall 2007/Winter 2008. Biophysical Society, Membrane-Biophysics Subgroup, Secretary-Treasurer, , 2005- present. Community volunteer activites: Junior League of Wilmington, Delaware; Greyhound rescue and adoption groups.

Biographical Information: BS and Pharm.D. degrees from University of Kentucky College of Pharmacy. Faculty member, North Dakota State University, 1984-87. PhD from Vanderbilt University, 1993. Post-doctoral research, Vanderbilt University, 1994-2000. Faculty member, Thomas Jefferson University, 2000 - present.

Candidate's Statement: I would like to continue and extend my involvement with Sigma Xi. In the years that I have been a delegate and chapter president I have sought to improve and re-energize the society. I would like to be on the nominating committee so that we may have a bright future.

Sigma Xi and Other Activities: Vice-President DC 2001-2003 President DC Chapter 2003-present CQM - 2006-present Associate Director MI 2008-present USDA greenhouse, greenhouse design, blood drive, recycling, and safety committees. Alternate safety Chair for Plant Science Institute. Board of Directors MD Greenhouse growers Assoc. and MD Nursery and Landscape Assoc. Member of the Lothian Ruritans. Integrated Pest manager and nutrient manager Greenstreet Growers.

Biographical Information: I was born and raised in MD as the daughter of a University professor. I have worked in and around science beginning as a child scribing data with dad. My lab work continued in earnest in high school working as a tech at UMD then at USDA. After obtaining my BS from UMD I began work, in 1991, as a senior technician in citrus pathology at USDA. I have since obtained my MS and now work as a support scientist in the same program. I live in Deale MD near the Chesapeake bay with husband Pat and dogs Rufus, Abigail,Rosie, and Charlotte.

Candidate's Statement: Although I've been a Sigma Xi member for years, I attended my first meeting in 2007, and came away with a desire to be more involved, especially in projects that might revitalize the Society's membership base. I've been trying to restart groups in Pennsylvania, and have to say I've been hugely unsuccessful. But I'm willing to try more, and serving on this committee would be rewarding.
