Biographical Information: John Arthur Knesel received his B.S. (1971) and M.S. (1974) in Biology from Northeast Louisiana University, and his Ph.D. (1983) in Animal Sciences from Purdue University. He served on the faculty of Purdue University - Calumet prior to coming to the University of Louisiana at Monroe in 1985. He has also served as an adjunct graduate faculty member in the School of Nursing at Grambling State University from 1998-2005. His other professional affiliations include the Human Anatomy/Physiology Society, Society of Animal Science, and Society for the Study of Reproduction. Knesel is a past-president of the Louisiana Academy, past-president of the University of Louisiana at Monroe Faculty Senate, and a member of the Monroe Chamber of Commerce Executive Council for Leadership Ouachita. He has served Sigma Xi as president of the ULM Chapter and currently serves as Secretary-Treasurer. He has also served as Associate Director of the Southeast Region, Chair of the Committee on Resolutions, and member of nominating committees at regional and Society levels.
