Welcome to registration for the Sigma Xi Student Research Conference. Registration rates, conference events and policies are provided for your reference. All fees are listed in US dollars. Sigma Xi is unable to offer student financial assistance at this time. Presenting Students should not submit a registration to the Sigma Xi Annual Meeting.

    Event Description
    Welcome and Networking Luncheon
    Friday, November 8
    Networking with tour guides from local companies will be held throughout the welcome luncheon.
    Local Tours
    Friday, November 8
    Students Only
    Local research companies host tours of their facilities. Local tours are open to student attendees only.
    Walston Chubb Innovation Dinner and Lecture
    Friday, November 8
    The award presentation and lecture will follow the dinner.
    Power-up Breakfast &
    Judge Orientation
    Saturday, November 9
    Students, Exhibitors and Judges prepare for the student poster competition by powering up with a light continental breakfast. Judge Orientation will be held during the breakfast.
    Young Investigator Award Luncheon & Lecture
    Saturday, November 9
    The award presentation and lecture will follow the luncheon.
    Student Workshops
    Saturday, November 9
    Students Only
    Educational sessions on career skills, research, grant writing and science communication. Workshops are open to student attendees only.
    William Procter Prize Lecture and Student Award Banquet
    Saturday, November 9
    The Saturday evening banquet is the capstone of an exciting conference and will feature the Procter Prize presentation and lecture & Student Award announcements. Attendees may purchase a guest banquet ticket during online registration.

    Who can attend the Sigma Xi Student Research Conference?
    The conference is open to both members and non-members of Sigma Xi. Presenting and Non-presenting students may attend. General Participants (non-students) are also welcome.

    Registration Payments & Receipts
    Credit card payments may be made online using Visa, MasterCard, American Express or Discover. Other payment arrangements may be made by contacting meeting@sigmaxi.org. Receipts will be provided on-site at the meeting and included in each attendee's registration packet.

    Cancellations and Refunds

  • To receive a full refund of the registration fee, written notification of cancellation must be sent to meeting@sigmaxi.org by Monday, November 4, 2013.
  • Effective Tuesday, November 5, 2013, a $25 processing fee will be deducted from all approved cancellation refunds.
  • Pro-rating of fees based on the proportion of the meeting attended cannot be authorized.
  • If an abstract is rejected for some reason, monies paid for registration fees will be refunded. Sigma Xi is not, however, responsible for travel or lodging expenses incurred by the registrants.

    Policy on Respect
    The Sigma Xi Student Research Conference should be a positive experience for all. Sigma Xi's Policy on Respect hopes to ensure this goal.

    Photography Notice
    Photographs may be taken during the meeting. These photographs will be the property of Sigma Xi and may be placed on our Web site or in promotional collateral.

    Anticipated Expenses
    Sigma Xi is unable to offer student financial assistance at this time. Tips are available for funding your anticipated expenses to attend the Student Research Conference.
