Activities planned for the 125th celebration
In honor of Sigma Xi's 125th anniversary, we're collecting stories and photos about the Society. Have you ever gotten a Sigma Xi Grant-in-Aid of Research? Tell us about how it helped your career. What about a favorite Sigma Xi mentor? Has American Scientist magazine inspired your research or led to a fruitful collaboration? Sigma Xi Constitution, Bylaws Modified
During the 2010 Sigma Xi Annual Meeting, a number of changes to the Society's constitution and bylaws were approved by the Assembly of Delegates. From now on, the election of Society officers, directors, associate directors and members of nomination committees will be open by electronic ballot to all active (dues-paying) full members and associate members.

American Scientist Article Wins Sidney Award
Darin L. Wolfe has received a 2010 Sidney Award for his American Scientist article "To See for One's Self" about the decline of the autopsy. The award is presented by David Brooks of the New York Times for the best magazine essays of the year.

2011 Sigma Xi Awards Honor Leading Researchers
Each year, Sigma Xi honors leading researchers for their scientific accomplishments and skill as communicators. Awards include the William Procter Prize for Scientific Achievement, John P. McGovern Science & Society Award, Walston Chubb Award for Innovation and the Young Investigator Award.

Sigma Xi's Jerome Baker Elected AAAS Fellow
Sigma Xi Executive Director Jerome F. Baker (SX 1990) has been elected a AAAS Fellow. The citation reads "for distinguished contributions to the field of animal genetics, and for scientific leadership as CEO of Sigma Xi and the Federation of Animal Science Societies."

The goal of the AAAS coalition is to facilitate communication and partnerships on human rights within and across the scientific community, and between the scientific and human rights communities.
