Sigma Xi Promotion from Associate to Full Membership

Membership in Sigma Xi is by invitation. Those who have shown potential as researchers are invited to join as associate members. Full membership is conferred upon those who have demonstrated noteworthy achievements in research. An associate member who qualifies for full membership as defined under qualifications may seek promotion to full member status by using the nomination form and choosing the "Promotion to Full Membership" option. A new nomination must be submitted for review with materials to support the qualifications for Full membership status as defined under Qualifications.

Promotion nominations may be submitted in one of the following ways:

  • Contact a local chapter officer.
  • If there is no local chapter, please submit the promotion nomination to the Committee on Qualifications and Membership. Please see the online form and instructions.
