About Sigma Xi, The Scientific Research Society
Founded in 1886, Sigma Xi is the international honor society for research scientists and engineers, with 520 chapters in North America and around the world. Over the course of our history, more than 200 Sigma Xi members have received the Nobel Prize. Education has always been a primary concern to Sigma Xi members, and giving support to teachers who are encouraging our future scientists and engineers is a key goal for the Society.
