Partnering Organizations

To achieve the goals of the Packard International Science Networking Initiative, Sigma Xi is working to build relationships with other organizations active in the area of international science and engineering research. Sigma Xi staff have met with representatives from several other organizations in order to learn a) which programs have already been developed, b) which activities have been successful or unsuccessful, and c) how Sigma Xi might collaborate on or supplement existing programs.

Sigma Xi is currently partnering with the following organizations on international networking activities:

Civilian Research and Development Foundation (CRDF)

This organization has publicized the Packard Initiative to the Research & Education Centers (REC) in Russia. Thus far, one group has received a Packard Initiative award. In addition, Sigma Xi participated in their recent pan-REC conference.

International Women in Science and Engineering (IWISE)

IWISE will be announcing the Packard Initiative to their alumni network in Eastern Europe and Africa. Discussions are currently underway about the possibility of joint workshops.

Third World Academy of Sciences (TWAS)

Conversations about cooperation on a publication covering research in the developing world are continuing.
