Statement
I will aim to contribute to Sigma Xi’s success in advancing the careers of other scientists and engineers and ensuring that the Society continues to offer timely, high-quality programming and services for its members. Notably, I will support the establishment of new awards for younger members of the Society and of initiatives that engage and reward our young professionals and provide them with leadership opportunities.
Moreover, I would champion building multidisciplinary ecosystems with participants from industry, academia and government. Within such communities, students will have ample opportunities for professional growth and intellectual enrichment benefiting their career and societal pursuits. These partnerships will also nurture connections among researchers, entrepreneurs and policy makers strengthening public trust in science and engineering, promoting inclusion and enabling the products of research enterprise to serve the common good.
It would be an honor to be given the opportunity to contribute toward this mission and work to ensure that Sigma Xi is best enabled to advance its diversity, both professional and personal, and its role in catalyzing the amelioration of human condition through science and engineering.
