Statement

I am proud to be an active member of Sigma Xi, The Scientific Research Honor Society.  I am especially excited to have this opportunity to serve the Society by running for Area Groups, Industries, State & Federal Laboratories Constituency director. As one of the largest multi-disciplinary scientific societies in the world, we support the free exchange of ideas across all of the research disciplines and from every type of research facility.  As a member and current North Central associate director for Sigma Xi, I believe that it is our duty to actively engage all members of the Society. I pledge to work effectively with the Area Groups, Industry, State & Federal Laboratories Constituency group and the Board to help the Society achieve its critical annual goals and objectives, which in turn, support our vision, mission, and strategic plan. I am committed to helping build membership, enhancing the support of the research enterprise, and promoting the public’s understanding of science and how it improves the human condition. 

Sigma Xi and Other Activities

Although my involvement in Sigma Xi has been limited to serving as the Midland’s Chapter president (1988-89) and North Central Associate Director (2016-present) my leadership experience in professional societies and non-profits are both relevant and extensive.
