Derek Muller and Michael Stevens have become internet sensations by explaining science through easy to understand online videos. Covering diverse topics, including “Can silence actually drive you crazy?” and “What if everyone jumped at once?”, their combined video collections have been viewed over a billion times and have been described as “the closest thing we have to a YouTube encyclopedia.”  Derek and Michael will discuss the joy and excitement of their careers as science communicators and how scientists can make their science more meaningful to broader audiences.

Science advisor to AMC's popular show, Breaking Bad, Nelson will speak about her experiences of working with media programmers and why it is so important to get the science correct in TV and film. Dr. Nelson specializes in the application and characterization of the single-walled carbon nanotube.
