Few Spaces Remain for Sigma Xi Expeditions Trip to Cuba

It's not too late for Sigma Xi members and their families or friends to sign up to visit Cuba with Sigma Xi Expeditions March 22-April 2, 2014.

Sigma Xi Expeditions take members on exciting, educational journeys worldwide.

Sigma Xi, The Scientific Research Society has received a license from the U.S. Department of the Treasury (license no. CT-2013-300567-1) that allows members to travel to Cuba for an educational visit. There will be a special emphasis on meeting Cubans, from botanists and environmentalists to scientists and national park personnel.

The 12-day itinerary includes visiting Havana, learning about the country's scientific accomplishments, and enjoying Cuba's natural world.

The trip fee is $3,995 per person for a twin share plus air fare from

Miami to Havana, Cuba, plus a Cuba visa fee. Air fare home to Miami is additional. This is based on a maximum of 24 paying participants. The single supplement is $795. If you do not have a roommate or Sigma Xi Expeditions cannot provide one, the single supplement must be paid.

The price includes transfers in Havana; transportation by air conditioned motor coach or vans; accommodations of a twin share with private bath in 3-star or 4-star hotels which reflect the culture of the country; all meals from breakfast on Day 2 until breakfast on Day 12; beverages at meals; entrance fees; gratuities to bellboys and waiters; leadership by an excellent naturalist; and special meetings with Cuban guests, leadership, and administration.
