Dear Members of Sigma Xi:

Sigma Xi is seeking candidates for leadership positions in the Society. Please take a few minutes to think about who you know that you believe can provide the leadership and vision to help Sigma Xi grow and fulfill its mission in these positions. This is an opportunity for every member of Sigma Xi to participate in the process to select the leadership of the Society and make an impact. Your participation in this nomination process is not only welcomed but encouraged.

Nominations submitted to the Executive Office by the deadline of May 23, 2014 will be forwarded to the appropriate nomination committee. Only complete nominations will be considered by the committees. A complete nomination package includes a current CV and a position statement. The position statement should include the vision and philosophy of the candidate, a description of relevant experience, and previous experience with Sigma Xi programs. Nomination packages should be submitted as PDF or Word documents to ExecutiveOffice@SigmaXi.org by May 23, 2014.

A list of Sigma Xi leadership positions which will need candidates for election in December 2014, other than President-elect-designee, are provided below. The terms will begin July 1, 2015, for Directors and Associate Directors; terms for Nomination Committees will begin immediately following the election in December 2014.

The voting for all positions will begin on November 10, 2014, by electronic means. Voting will be open for 30 days following the Annual Assembly of Delegates on November 6-9, 2014. All active members of the Society will be invited to cast their vote. I invite you to consider nominating someone or self-nominating for the positions.

Representation of a region or constituency is based on your current local chapter affiliation. Your chapter affiliation must be in the region or constituency to be represented. Please contact memberinfo@sigmaxi.org to check your eligibility or to change your chapter affiliation.
