International Research Conference Celebrates National Hispanic Heritage Month

Nicholas Ramirez RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, NC—In celebration of National Hispanic Heritage Month, students and faculty from Hispanic-serving institutions and emerging Hispanic-serving institutions receive a 50 percent registration discount to the Sigma Xi Annual Meeting and Student Research Conference through October 15. 

The meeting is targeted to professional scientists and engineers, student researchers in high school through graduate school, and science enthusiasts. It will take place October 25–28 at the Hyatt Regency San Francisco Airport in California. This year’s theme, Big Data and the Future of Research, will be conveyed through symposia on big data in biology and medicine; physics and astronomy; and climate, energy, and the environment. The meeting also features a student research poster competition and sessions on research ethics, science communication, and professional development for research careers.
