Liz Neeley Tabbed to Host Inaugural IFoRE Conference

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, NC—Sigma Xi, The Scientific Research Honor Society is pleased to announce an agreement with science communication and media personality Liz Neeley to serve as host and emcee at the International Forum on Research Excellence (IFoRE). Neeley will host Key Thought Sessions and provide coaching at the inaugural event, taking place November 3–6, 2022 in Alexandria, Virginia.

A trailblazer in the art of science storytelling, Neeley is the founder and principal of the science communication design firm Liminal Creations. Prior to that she was the executive director of the science-based storytelling media organization, The Story Collider. Over the past 15 years, she has worked as a science journalist, speaker, and coach, leading workshops on environmental science, policy, and public science communication.

“We are thrilled that Liz is applying her brand of engagement to IFoRE,” said Sigma Xi Executive Director Jamie Vernon. “Her expert approach to dialogue and deliberation will enhance the IFoRE experience for speakers and attendees alike.”

Making its debut in 2022, the four-day IFoRE conference will be centered on the theme of “Science Convergence in an Inclusive and Diverse World.” It will feature Key Thought sessions from international STEM leaders, student research presentations, and signature events such as #SciCommSunday. Additionally, reimagined components from past Sigma Xi conferences will include an assembly of delegates, Student Summit, and STEM Art and Film Festival.
