2022 Fellows Recognized at Sigma Xi's Inaugural IFoRE Conference

Sigma Xi is proud to announce the presentation of fellowship to 10 distinguished members at its inaugural International Forum on Research Excellence (IFoRE). The ceremony took place November 5 in Alexandria, Virginia.

The Fellow of Sigma Xi distinction is awarded on a competitive basis to members who have been recognized by their peers. Fellows must be an active (dues-paying), full member for the last 10 years continuously, or a life member, with distinguished service to Sigma Xi and outstanding contributions to the scientific enterprise.

2022 Fellows

Harjit Ahluwalia
University of New Mexico

For distinguished accomplishments and dedication to the development of young investigators, as well as significant contributions to the Society’s mission and service to the University of New Mexico chapter of Sigma Xi. 

Margaret Amsler
University of Alabama at Birmingham 

For distinguished accomplishments and personal rejuvenation of the University of Alabama at Birmingham chapter of Sigma Xi and integral involvement in growth of membership.

Richard Boudreault
McGill University

For distinguished accomplishments, service as a member of the Board, and translation of technology from theoretical to applicable. Also for significant contributions to the Society’s mission and service to the McGill chapter of Sigma Xi.

Clark Gantzer
University of Missouri

For distinguished accomplishments and service to Sigma Xi, as well as significant contributions to the Society’s mission and service as President of the University of Missouri chapter. 

Lawrence Gettleman
University of Louisville, School of Dentistry

For distinguished accomplishments and life-long dedication to science, as well as significant contributions to the Society’s mission and service to the Louisville chapter of Sigma Xi and beyond. 

Vijay Kowtha
Membership-at-Large Constituency Group

For distinguished accomplishments and extraordinary dedication as a former member of the Board, as well as significant contributions to the Society’s mission and service to the Membership-at-Large Constituency Group. 

Linda H. Mantel
Portland State University

For distinguished accomplishments and long-standing service to the Columbia-Willamette chapter of Sigma Xi and continued service at the national level as a member of the Board of Directors.

Jay Pasachoff
Williams College

For distinguished accomplishments and contributions to the Society's mission, as well as early involvement in the Williams Club, now Williams Chapter, through today where he continues to be integrally involved in promoting chapter activities.

University of Texas at San Antonio

For distinguished accomplishments and contributions at two separate chapters, at the national level, and for promoting the talents of underrepresented populations.
