Jade Keehn

At the time of this GIAR award (May, 2014), Jade Keehn was a graduate student in Biology at the University of Nevada, Reno. She has served as a biologist for the U.S. Forest Service and Wyoming Game and Fish, and as a field technician for both the National Parks Service and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. She also completed a semester study abroad in San Ramon, Costa Rica, where she worked with the University of Costa Rica, Sede de Occidente campus under Faculty Advisor Cindy Rodríguez Arias studying tropical ecology and conservation and conducting an independent research project.

Jade received her GIAR for a project to study how wind farms affect biotic systems, particularly in fragile habitats such as deserts.
