Important Sigma Xi Dates

SPRING NOMINATIONS: Who will you nominate for Sigma Xi membership this spring? Membership requires two nominators. Sigma Xi staff can help you find a second nominator if you need one. Please visit www.sigmaxi.org/become-a-member for more information.

MARCH 1: The Society offers subsidies for chapters in need of financial assistance to host a virtual or in-person visit by a Sigma Xi Distinguished Lecturer. The deadline for Distinguished Lectureships subsidy applications is March 1 at 11:59 p.m. pacific time for lecturer visits that will take place between July 1, 2021, and June 30, 2022. Visit www.sigmaxi.org/lectureships to see a list of the most recent cohort of distinguished lecturers. 

MARCH 15: Undergraduate and graduate students may apply by March 15 for research funding from the Grants in Aid of Research (GIAR) program. For more information, visit www.sigmaxi.org/giar

MARCH 26: Students in high school through graduate school may register and submit an abstract by 11:59 p.m. pacific time on March 26 to compete in the online Student Research Showcase in April. For more information, visit www.sigmaxi.org/srs

APRIL 26: Online judging begins for the Student Research Showcase, including a discussion period between students and judges. Judging concludes on May 10, 2021.
