Each year, thousands of ninth through twelfth graders worldwide are selected to compete at the Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair (Regeneron ISEF) by winning a top prize at a local, regional, state, or national science fair affiliated with Society for Science. The 2024 event featured over 2,000 young scientists representing 49 states and 70 countries. More than $9 million was awarded in the form of cash awards and scholarships.

Sigma Xi continued its support for these students as a Special Awards Organization during the 2024 event, by judging team projects in life sciences and physical sciences. The seven judges evaluated 260 team projects to award the best demonstrations of team science, reflecting Sigma Xi's culture of fostering collaboration among researchers from multiple disciplines.
